Air Marshal (retd.) Jeetendra Mishra has been appointed as the first full-time Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the body responsible for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Before taking over a major operational command, he served as Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff for Operations.

Leadership of the Western Air Command

On January 1, 2025, Mishra assumed charge as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Air Command, one of the Indian Air Force’s most critical operational formations. The command is responsible for air operations along India’s western borders and fields a range of modern assets, including advanced fighter aircraft, attack helicopters, transport fleets and air defence systems.

He held this position until his retirement on April 30, 2026. During his tenure, the Western Air Command was involved in Operation Sindoor in May 2025. Mishra was among a small group of seven military officers who received the Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medal for their contributions to the operation.
